Perhaps it's because of all the wine they make here in Moldova, but if there's anything that Bessarabian Jews love, it's Purim. Seriously. From the pre-Purim preparation programs, to the extended days of Purim proper, this holiday was on the verge of outlasting Chanukah and Sukkot combined.
And don't worry! If, khas ve-sholem, you had missed any of the celebrations, the preferred activity this shabes at the Kishinev Jacobs Jewish Campus was to watch videos of this & last week's earlier festivities.
But how can I possibly hope to convey the sheer number and diversity of the carnivals, klezmer concerts, costume parties and homentashn feasts that transpired here in Moldova in a mere blogpost? I'll let the photos speak for themselves....
